This sequence of courses is designed to help students learn the foundational computer and workplace English language skills needed for advanced English Language Learners to enter the workforce. These skills include: keyboarding, computer literacy, Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, and practical language structure and vocabulary for the business environment.
It also prepares students for CIM and ESL academic credit courses.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Plan, create and keyboard in the correct format using word processing software, multi-page letters, multi-page memos, memo reports, company announcements and invitations, employment documents, and intracompany newsletters.
- Plan, create, collaborate and share, using Google Docs, multi-page letters, reports, company announcements, and employment documents.
- Analyze and incorporate essential workplace vocabulary and idioms and other multi-word expressions in role plays and written communication.
