MUS 21H WORLD MUSIC HONORS3 Units - 3 hours lecture
Transfers: CSU, UC
This course introduces skills for listening to Western and non-Western musical traditions. Students review vocal and instrumental traditions, cultural, socio-economic, religious, and political issues that bear upon the music. Attendance at live concerts may be required. Honors course: required reading of advanced texts, scholarly articles, and an in-class presentation. Credit is given for MUS 21 or 21H, not both. NR
