ESL 370 ACADEMIC WRITING I FOR MULTILINGUAL WRITERS5 Units - 5 hours lecture
Prerequisite: ESL 361B
This the first semester of the academic writing sequence designed for non-native English writers who need to be introduced to the demands of Academic English. Students will write paragraphs and essays as they respond to text-based prompts. The course covers refining the academic paragraph, and structuring the academic essay. The course focuses on developing academic reading, writing, language, and critical thinking skills. Successful completion allows students to enroll in ESL 80.
