Information Technology, AS


This Information Technology degree introduces computers, networking, and cybersecurity skills and prepares students to enter the workforce as an entry-level information communications technologies professional (Computer User Support Specialist or Computer Network Support Specialist). The program is designed to meet the needs of students who want 1) to obtain entry level employment; 2) to advance in their current positions; or 3) to change careers. This program enables students to demonstrate specialization in areas such as computer technical support and networking. Successful completion of this program prepares students to take certification exams offered by third parties such as CompTIA’s A+ (CIM 110), Network+ (CIM 181), Linux+ (CIM 161), and prepares students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Exam (CIM 181, 182, 283).
