The Associate in Science in Environmental Science for Transfer degree prepares students with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to transfer to a four-year program in Environmental Science. The degree provides a broad-based curriculum in the major fields of study that contribute to the current understanding, analysis, and solutions to today’s most pressing environmental issues. This curriculum is designed specifically to provide a solid foundation for transfer students who intend to pursue further study at the baccalaureate level. Students will apply the fundamentals of biology, chemistry, physics, environmental policy, and economics to the critical analysis of issues facing the interaction of humans with their environment.
Pursuant to SB1440, section 66756, to earn an Associate in Science in Environmental Science for Transfer (AS-T in Environmental Science) degree students must:
- Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter CSU transferable units.
- Obtain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU transferable coursework.
- Complete and obtain certification of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC for CSU) or CSU GE pattern.
- Complete major units listed below. All courses in the major must be completed with a grade of C or Better (Title 5 § 55063).
