Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary field of inquiry that examines the intersection between gender with race, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, class, and various underrepresented and under-resourced populations. The field examines structures of power as it relates to gender in the context of historical and contemporary struggles for social, political, cultural, and economic change. Students will examine the social construction of femininity, masculinity, sexual identity, and gender identity from a feminist perspective.
