CIM 172 DIGITAL FORENSICS FUNDAMENTALS

This course is an introduction to the methods used to properly conduct a digital forensics investigation and aligns with objectives of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) Certification. Topics covered include computer forensics as a profession and the investigator’s lab; computer investigation and crime scene processes; understanding operating systems boot processes and disk structures; data (email, graphics) acquisition and analysis; report writing for high-tech investigations; and a review of familiar computer forensics tools.
