LIT 33 INTRODUCTION TO DRAMA3 Units - 3 hours lecture Transfers: CSU, UC This course surveys the development of drama and dramatic literature from Greek antiquity through contemporary drama. Students critically read, discuss, and write analytically in response to important playwrights and plays, and other dramatic works, reflecting a diversity of periods, traditions, and movements; and genres, conventions, and themes central to the study of dramatic literature. The course emphasizes how students might interpret and argue meaning in a dramatic text within its historical, social, and literary contexts. NR
