AJ 5 POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS

This course examines the complex, dynamic interrelationship between the community and the justice system. Focus will be on the working relationship between the community and the various components of the justice system in managing crime and conflict, with emphasis on the challenges and prospects of working with diverse multicultural and socioeconomic populations. This course emphasizes the roles of the police and the community and strategies for building positive working relationships in community policing. Topics include problem identification and resolution strategies, crime prevention, and administering justice with a focus on diversity and equality.
