PSYC 15A FACULTY MENTORED INDEPENDENT RESEARCH IN PSYCHOLOGY A

2 Units - 1 hour lecture, 3 hours lab
Transfers: CSU, UC
Prerequisite: PSYC 1  or PSYC 1H  
Recommended Preparation: PSYC 2  or PSYC 10 ; at least one other Psychology course in addition to PSYC 1  
This research course provides hands-on experience for conducting independent psychological research while under the guidance of a a faculty mentor. Students learn to access research databases related to the psychology field, collaborate effectively on a research team, design a study that adheres to appropriate ethical guidelines, write an IRB proposal, and present their design in a research conference setting.
