This course offers an introduction to stem cell research, including the origins and potential uses of stem cells in medicine, research, reproduction, agriculture, environment preservation, and other applications. Course topics include different sources and forms of stem cells, the technologies used to generate these remarkable cells, their use in a wide variety of fields, and the ethical and social concerns that have been and continue to be raised about the use of stem cells and related biotechnologies.
