This course presents an overview of patrol operations, the primary enforcement unit of the police. The course outlines the development of the patrol enforcement philosophy and role expectations of the line enforcement officer. It introduces students to current models and practices of patrol enforcement including basic patrol and traffic duties; handling requests for services; conducting field interviews, searches, and arrests; interceding in civil and domestic disturbances; and other community problems.
