HD 65 INTRODUCTION TO SCHOOL-AGE CHILD DEVELOPMENT

1 Unit - 1 hour lecture

This course examines the factors contributing to optimal development in the biosocial, cognitive, and psychosocial domains during middle childhood between 6 and 12 years of age. Students are introduced to both grand and emergent theories and will apply practical applications to an understanding children in middle childhood. The course is of particular interest to students preparing for a career in school-age childcare settings as well as to parents, grandparents or guardians. This course meets Title 22 licensing requirements for school-age childcare providers.
